Water pheasant’s scientific name is Hydrophasianus Chirurgus. This chicken species is mainly distributed in India, China and some Southeast Asian countries.
The length of an adult waterfowl chicken is from 39-58cm, of which the tail length is 25cm, weighing 113-135g for males and 205-260g for females. What’s special is that this breed of chicken can both swim and fly.
Water pheasants have black back, belly and tail feathers, white head and sides. Females are more colorful than females. The upper half of the neck is yellow.
Water pheasants often eat insects, invertebrates and shrimps floating on the water surface. It spends most of its time moving on vegetation in some lakes and ponds. Currently, there is no specific information about the reproductive process of water pheasants.
